THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TERRORIST AND A FREEDOM FIGHTER

The first defense of terrorists is that they are actually freedom fighters. What's the difference and are they right?
There are many terrorist groups in this century that proclaim themselves as freedom fighters. The foundations of their philosophy are political goals that are closely linked to fundamentalist, separatist or perverted religious ideas.
Freedom fighters fight for political ends, but their actions are not narrowly confined to a single religious group or nation.
Terrorists carry out actions aimed at creating fear and provoking reaction. Freedom fighters carry out actions aimed at freeing them from fear.
Terrorists attack civilian targets, military fighters.
Terrorists use children as suicide bombers, fighters trying to protect the population.
When al-Qaeda terrorists demolished the World Trade Center towers on 9/11, they killed about 3,000 people, completely irrelevant, but that was not the goal, but the means to that end. Their basic idea was to provoke a US reaction and an attack on Iraq or Afghanistan in which they succeeded. This created a new wave of religious hatred and a large number of recruits. After the assassination of Osama bin Laden, instead of breaking terrorism, a stronger and more powerful ISIS (Daesh) was created, which managed to make the whole country with international leadership and territory that extended even to Africa.
There are numerous differences that can be applied to all situations, although there is not only one definition but it is important to distinguish between justified struggle and terrorism.
