The IUKL Serbia Open IV international kettlebell sport competition and the Serbian Open Championship were held today at SPENS in Novi Sad.
The organiser of this major competition is the sports association “Girevik” Novi Sad, led by the celebrated champion Aleksandar Miletić, who brought the sport to Serbia.
Representing this club, we followed our undefeated champion in the sport, Nemanja Najvirt, who entered the competition to defend his title.
He competed in the Long cycle +90 kg event with two 20 kg kettlebells.
Najvirt succeeded and won two gold medals for our country (the IUKL international competition and the Serbian Open Championship), becoming the absolute undefeated champion of Serbia.
Besides Serbia, the competition included Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia, Italy and others.
After the competition we had a short interview with Nemanja.
Congratulations. What are your impressions?
“Thank you. I managed to defend my title, and that is what matters most. It wasn’t easy, and I went into this competition without being 100% ready. I did 80 lifts, which was enough for the brightest medal.”
What are your plans?
– The World Championship in this sport takes place in November, here in Serbia, in my home town of Novi Sad.
“A large number of competitors from all over the world are expected, and I would love to compete there and win a medal in front of the home crowd. But reality is a little different from wishes. Everything I achieve, I achieve with only three training sessions a week. I have less and less time, and I am not as dedicated to it as I should be. I am afraid I won’t manage to prepare for the World Championship in two months, but we’ll see…”
We wish you every success in your sporting career.
“Thank you very much. These medals were for the two of them – my children, who are my greatest motivation – and for my family.”
Besides being a successful athlete, Najvirt is the president and founder of Audi Club Serbia, which has more than 6,000 members from Serbia and the region and is the largest car enthusiasts’ club in the Balkans. He is also president of the DBA centre (a security centre) for the territory of Vojvodina.

Alongside all his activities and engagements, Nemanja is also a respected member of our organisation.
CTO would like to thank Nemanja above all for his incredible effort and sporting success, through which – besides promoting the organisations he belongs to and his country – he sends a wonderful message to young people about building a sporting spirit, reminding people of values that are sadly fading today.
We wish our dear member Nemanja much more success in his sporting career!
Dragan Pantić, President of CTO.
